Enhanced Surface Tube

The integral extended surface tube was originated and developed by Wolverine in the early 1930's and its growth has been closely allied  to the refrigeration, air conditioning, energy generation and process industrial.  Wolverine has continued in the research, development and production of integral extended and enhanced surface products to serve a wide variety of heat transfer applications.

 S/T Trufin

S/T Trufin has integral extended helical fins on the outside and is designed primarily for shell and tube heat exchanger applications to increase efficiency and reduce costs.  It can also be used to retrofit prime surface heat exchangers to increase their efficiency.

Turbo-Chil

Turbo-Chil has integral extended helical fins on the outside, and integral helical ridges on the inside to improve turbulation, thus giving a more balanced outside to inside heat transfer coefficient ratio for shell and tube heat exchanger applications such as boiling and condensing of hydrocarbons.

H/F Trufin

H/F Trufin has integral high helical fins on the outside and is designed primarily for applications such as heating or cooling gases, where a high outside to inside surface area ratio is desirable.

W/H Trufin

W/H Trufin has integral helical fins on the outside and is designed for applications where the fluid on the outside is in natural convention and water or condensing steam is on the inside of the tube.

Turbo-B, Turbo-BII, Turbo-BIII, Turbo-EHP, and Turbo-ELP

These tubes are highly enhanced surfaces developed by Wolverine for use as a evaporator tube in the air-conditioning and refrigeration industry. Other clean service evaporator applications could benefit from the increased performance of these products.

Turbo-C, Turbo-CII, Turbo-CIII, Turbo-CEP, Turbo-CLF, Turbo-CDI, and Turbo-CSL

These are enhanced surface tubes designed by Wolverine for the condensation of refrigerants and other light hydrocarbons. Both the inside and outside surfaces of these tubes are typically extensively enhanced to yield an optimal overall heat transfer coefficient. Turbo-CLF and smooth bore versions of the other condensing tubes are available for high fouling applications.

Turbo-DX and Turbo-CDX

Turbo-DX is an internally ridged tube designed for use in the evaporators of direct expansion water chillers.  The internal ridges provide increased inside surface area and act as turbulators for the refrigerant flow, there by improving heat transfer.

Turbo-CDX contains the Turbo-DX internal enhancement, but is provided with OD enhancement and is therefore well suited for brine applications.
