Harold M. Karp—President and Chief Operating Officer

Harold M. KarpHarold Karp assumed the role of President and Chief Operating Officer in February of 2007.  In this capacity, he has repositioned Wolverine on a new path and strategic direction, and he has recruited a strong executive team who is committed to ensuring Wolverine’s continued success. 

Prior to Harold’s career at Wolverine, he spent over 30 years as a visionary business executive in all facets of business management including strategic planning, acquisition negotiation, product development, engineering management, managerial accounting, sales and marketing management, and business integration.   Most recently, he was President and Chief Operating Officer for Essex Electric, a $550 million electrical products business, where he successfully restructured the entire company and realized a 400% return on investment. He was also President of the Electrical Products Group, and Senior Vice President, Operations for Superior Telecom, Inc. an electronics products business, where he cultivated a new business model which led to significant cost reduction and operational improvement.  Prior to this role, Harold spent 13 years in executive management positions at Alcatel, where he was Vice President and General Manager, Copper Cable and Wire Products as well as Director of Business Planning and Export/Non-Contract Sales for the copper and fiber optic cable business unit. 

Harold earned a Masters of Business Administration in Management from Bellarmine University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky.  He is also a Certified Management Accountant, and a Certified Production and Inventory Manager APICS (CPIM).  He also holds certification in Strategic Operations Management from the University of Michigan and is Vice Chairman, North American Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).


David A. Owen—Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary

Dave A. OwenDave Owen joined Wolverine in October 2007 and assumed the role of Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary in January 2008. Dave possesses more than 35 years of progressively responsible experience in corporate financial management, SEC reporting, public company reporting, treasury management, bank leadership, LBO process, budgeting and forecasting, investor relations, and cash flow strategies.

Prior to Dave’s career at Wolverine, he spent over ten years in financial management leadership as Chief Financial Officer of The Alpine Group and Executive Vice President of Essex International.  At The Alpine Group, Inc., Dave was Chief Financial Officer and was also responsible for the financial operations of Essex Electric, Inc., where he was also Senior Vice President, Finance. Prior to that, he was also Executive Vice President, Finance of Superior Telecom, where he assisted in developing and implementing a major restructuring project involving the company’s financial functions.  Prior to this role, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Essex International, a NYSE company, where he was instrumental in securing various financing  of credit facilities.  During his tenure as Chief Financial Officer of Essex International, the Company completed an LBO and an initial public offering.

Dave earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Indiana University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.


Stephen L. Rudd—Senior Vice President, Strategic Markets and Product Development

StephenSteve Rudd joined Wolverine in September of 2008 as Senior Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Product Development.  He is an accomplished senior level executive with more than 35 years experience in global and private industry leading both operations and marketing, and has spent his entire career focusing on strategic planning, process re-engineering, process simplification, market value assessment, product innovation, and new product introduction. 

Prior to Steve’s career at Wolverine, he spent over 20 years in executive management positions where he has a broad business background and experience in reinventing business models to respond to changing market needs.  Most recently, Steve was CEO of HH Technologies, where he strategically refocused their business into profitable growth markets.  He was Sr. Executive Director of NSG Holding, USA, a global automotive and building materials glass manufacturer, where he developed a strategy assuring the successful integration of a newly acquired $1.5 billion North American business unit into the new $7.0 billion global company. Steve was also President and CEO of Cerro Wire and Cable Company, a $600 million company and leading producer of electrical wire products. Prior to this role, he was President of Pilkington plc and also held senior strategic and marketing positions at Owens-Corning.  

Steve earned a Bachelor in Science in Industrial Engineering degree from Ohio State University.  He is also certified in Distribution Business Strategies, Pricing and Channel Strategies, Six Sigma, Executive Development, and Strategic Management Education
